这是第一部将厨艺引入电影的中国片，结合了功夫杂耍的手法，创造出一种相当新鲜有趣的娱乐效果。元彪饰演自大陆赴港投靠亲戚的杂技团团员，他与离家出走的富家子黎明结为好友，并在吴孟达开设的大排档表演煮食杂耍，成为伙头好搭档，并引起饮食集团公关陈法蓉的赏识。另一方面，地产商看中吴孟达所住的旧楼，胁迫他出售改建，双方引发冲突，最后演变成一场大火。导演于仁泰在功夫动作片中另癖蹊径开发了这个新鲜题材，重点虽不是描写中国美食，却将大排档的香港地方特色和平民厨艺的大众化趣味表现得不错，压轴的旧楼大火也拍得相当刺激可观。。电视剧讲述了主人公“虾球”从一个出身穷苦的流浪儿，成长为一名游击队战士的故事。。This French family film is filled with action, animals, adventure, and suspense.
