剧集灵感来自80年代一个播映期极短但颇受欢迎的节目《GLOW》，这个虚构故事描述1980年代洛杉矶一位失业女演员露丝·怀德（爱丽森·布里 Alison Brie 饰） ，终于找到最后一个成名机会：但她必须先将自己塞入女子摔跤世界的华丽紧身服装内。除了要和12位怀才不遇的好莱坞圈内人共事，露丝还要和前肥皂剧女演员黛比·伊根 （贝蒂 · 吉尔平 Betty Gilpin 饰）一争高下。黛比因为怀孕而离开影剧圈，却又因为生活不如想像完美而必须重操旧业。领队的则是山姆·希维亚（马克·马龙 Marc Maron 饰），一位浮浮沉沉、霉运当头的B级片电影导演，现在他必须带著14位女性踏上摔跤界星光大道。。《神探可伦坡》第十三季共由以下五集组成：Strange Bedfellows、A Trace of Murder、Ashes to Ashes、Murder with Too Many Notes、Columbo Likes the Nightlife，这五集实际上是五部特别篇，分别于1995—2003年间推出。。Joseph Fulton, a well-regarded fifty-eight-year-old director of romantic comedies, wants to become assistant groundskeeper at a local cemetery.
